General Admissions Requirements
Each degree applicant must complete the “General Admissions Requirements” as well as the “Degree Specific Requirements.” For those requirements that are specific to a degree program, see the description of the degree programs.
General Admissions Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree from an approved college or university (A limited number of applicants who have not completed a baccalaureate degree may be admitted as special students with certain conditions. Educational equivalence to the baccalaureate degree must be demonstrated.)
- A completed application form
- Payment of a non-refundable application fee
- CTU reserves the right to require a formal evaluation of applicants and a personal interview with admissions officials.
- Prospective students must submit a writing sample that will be assessed.
- Letters of recommendation are required.
- Official transcripts are required for those who wish to take classes for credit.
- Students must be proficient in English.
Note: Upon admission, students must provide proof of medical health insurance and be in compliance with immunization requirements of the State of Illinois. Further information is available from the Admissions Office.
International Applicants
In addition to meeting the general and specific admission requirements, applicants from outside the United States who do not hold a U.S. Passport must submit a letter of financial support or personal guarantee of payment (affidavit of support), an official bank statement, and the enrollment fee. Upon review of these documents, CTU may issue the necessary I-20 form to study in the U.S.
